There are many reasons to join the Nashville Musicians Association, but none is more important than the simple concept of strength in numbers. Non-Union musicians are much more likely to be exploited and less likely to receive the benefits that the Nashville Musicians Association provides for its members, such as binding  union contracts and scales wages worthy of professionals. As a talented musician, your real strength in the music business comes from working and bargaining collectively with other musicians. All of us working together can accomplish much more for each other than we ever could separately.

This is what we are all about.

AFM Local 257, the Nashville Musicians Association, was founded in 1902 and currently represents over 2600 of Music City's finest musicians, including the Nashville Symphony, studio players, road musicians, singer/songwriters, arrangers, and producers.

Newly elected President Dave Pomeroy and Secretary/Treasurer Craig Krampf have experience in all areas of the music business and are committed to preserving and building on the great tradition of Nashville's music history while leading the way into our collective future.

By keeping an open ear to the diverse needs of all its members in the forefront and most importantly, adjusting our strategies and policies to reflect the rapidly changing environment of today's music business, the Nashville Musicians Association continues to thrive as one the strongest and most productive Locals in the AFM.
